Speed testing

You can check your speed at www.speedtest.net.

Internet speed can be affected by numerous factors that do not always depend on the provider:

  • the specifications of your equipment;
  • connecting via Wi-Fi instead of cable (for a real result test the speed only over a cable connection);
  • the throughput of "100-megabit" network cards, which in reality does not exceed 85-95 Mbps (cheap models can be as low as 35-40 Mbps);
  • some "1000-megabit" network cards also may not reach that speed;
  • overload of a specific resource (many users connecting simultaneously);
  • an antivirus with traffic filtering;
  • background programs downloading.
